Having presented BBC Breakfast for 5 years, Dermot moved to SKY News where he now presents their weekday breakfast show. He also fronts the self-titled Sunday morning politics programme for SKY, Murnaghan.

Alongside his news broadcasting, Dermot presents the long-running BBC 2 quiz show Eggheads and its spin-offs Celebrity Eggheads and Are You An Egghead? He also presented Treasure Hunt and The State We’re In, during his time on the BBC.

Prior to being a television presenter, Dermot reported on some of the most pressing world news stories for ITV News, from war zones to the 2001 general election.

In 1997, Dermot was one of the first to report on the death of Diana, Princess of Wales.
